Day 1 / Arrival day

Day 2 / Strasbourg

European capital and capital of Alsace, Strasbourg has a world-renowned historical heritage: the Great Island is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Encircled by the arms of the Ill, the city centre includes the main places and monuments that make Strasbourg famous, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral… Impossible not to succumb to its charm!

Enjoy one of the most beautiful panorama of Strasbourg. Be prepared to climb many stairs, but the vue is the best reward. You will also find a hall with explanations on how they used to ring the historic bell. You really get to see the entire city from above and understand the particular layout of the Grand Ile.

The Rohan Palace in Strasbourg was built between 1732 and 1742 according to the plans of Robert de Cotte, the First Architect of the King, for Cardinal Armand-Gaston de Rohan-Soubise, Prince-Bishop of Strasbourg. Inspired by the grand Parisian hotels, the Episcopal Palace of Strasbourg is one of the finest architectural achievements of the 18th century in France, both for the noble and classical elegance of its façades and its sumptuously decorated interiors. The city’s Museum of Fine Arts was installed there in 1889, followed by the Archaeological Museum in 1913 and the Museum of Decorative Arts in 1924.

Day 3 / Obernai & Haut Koenigsbourg castle

After the check-out, road to Obernai. First stop at the memorial on top of a hill giving you a wonderful vew over Obernai and the vineyard.

This charming town is nestled in the foothills of the Vosges mountains. Its historic center, still contained within its walls, has a very fine set of medieval and Renaissance houses richly decorated with flowers. But what we remember the most when visiting the city is its peaceful and family atmosphere!

Visit of a wine cellar and wine tasting with a slice of Kougelhopf
Guided tour of the cellar with explanations about the history of the estate, their farming methods, and winemaking. The tour is followed by an exploration of their passive building constructed of wood and straw. After these insightful explanations, you will enjoy a guided tasting of 5 wines and a sparkling fruit beverage. (+ a slice of kougelhopf, traditional alsatian brioche)

Walking through the gates of Haut-Kœnigsbourg Castle is like plunging into the world of the Middle Ages. From the lower courtyard with its inn, forge and mill, to the spiral staircases leading to the furnished flats of the lord… discover the architecture, the collections and the atmosphere, all steeped in 900 years of history.

Day 4 / Vosges mountains

Enjoy a lovely hike in the Vosges mountain. The area around the hotel counts multiple lakes, which create a beautilful landscape. This hike won’t be like any other ! You will not only walk, but als taste 3 wines and 3 cheeses!

Traditional Marcaire lunch (4-course lunch)
Discover the traditional Marcaire meal of the Vosges. Historically served on farms to dairy cattle herders while they grazed in the mountains. Start with a vegetable soup, followed by a portion of meat pie. The main course typically consists of “roigabrageldi” (potatoes cooked with onions and bacon, grilled and then simmered) served with smoked meat and salad. Then, enjoy some farmhouse Munster cheese before concluding with a dessert (blueberry pie, white cheese with kirsch, etc.).

Relaxed afternoon at the spa
The hotel provides bathrobes and slippers. Spa access is available from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm from Monday to Sunday. Access is complimentary for all guests who have booked directly through the website or by phone. The menu and rates for massages and treatments can be found at the reception or online.

Day 5 / Munster cheese and wines

Visit of the House of Cheese and cheese tasting
Visiting the cheese house is an opportunity to explore the Marcaire traditions, their tools, and way of life. The tour takes you to watch a presentation film about the Munster Valley before passing through a history-filled barn. You’ll conclude the visit in the demonstration area where you will taste a few products.
Marcaire : It refers to a traditional mountain farmer or herder who primarily works with dairy cattle. These farmers engage in
cheese production, particularly making Munster cheese, which is a famous and characteristic cheese of the region.

Road to Turckheim.

With a population of 3,500, the medieval city of Turckheim has been mainly known for its wines for centuries, thanks in particular to the Brand vineyard, one of the 51 Great Crus of Alsace.There is also a legend told by the ancients that a dragon from the sea shed its blood on the hill of Brand, making the land fertile and giving birth to wines of exceptional purity.

Capital of the Alsace Wine Route, the pretty city of Colmar will only seduce you with its typical Alsatian charm! Stroll through the cobbled streets, marvel at the half-timbered houses with flowered windows, let yourself be carried in the district of Little Venice.

Flat boat tour
A picturesque district in the heart of the old town, Little Venice owes its splendor to a peaceful river: the Lauch. Aboard a flat-bottomed boat, discover all the charm of this authentic place. Walk along the half-timbered houses and appreciate the serenity of the market gardeners’ quarter where abundant vegetation abounds. Let yourself be carried along by the water and enjoy this exceptional point of view. (Supplement for a private boat).

Free time for lunch

Entrance at the Unterlinden Museum and guided visit
The Unterlinden Museum original location in the 13th century convent is now linked to the former municipal baths building inaugurated in 1906. The architects Herzog & de Meuron connected the two buildings and added a contemporary extension. An underground gallery con-sisting of three exhibition rooms passes underneath the Place Unterlinden and the canal. It leads to the new building, the Ackerhof, which is named after the convent’s former farm building. More than ever before, the Musée Unterlinden has room to display its encyclopaedic collections.

In the city centre of Colmar, in a green and calm area in Colmar, discover the charm of this beautiful home winemaker with an inner courtyard. You will taste some excellent wines explained by their passionate owners.

Day 7 / The pearls of the wine road

Located between vineyards and mountains, Ribeauvillé is a charming city that has developed its heritage. In the Middle Ages, the city was the seat of the Seigneury of the Ribeaupierre family (hence the name of the town of Ribeauvillé). The city is dominated by the ruins of ancient castles, giving it a special character. You can admire its medieval fortifications, its picturesque streets, its squares decorated with Renaissance-style fountains.

Guided visit of Riquewihr, the cradle of the famous “Crémant”
Riquewihr, an unmissable medieval town in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards, is surrounded by vineyards classified as “grand cru”: Schoenenbourg and Sporen. By the harmony of the winemakers’ houses and the mansions, its belfry and the walls of medieval walls perfectly preserved, Riquewihr is considered the Pearl of the Alsatian Vineyard. This «Most beautiful village in France» is also the cradle of the famous “Crémant” of Alsace!

Road to Kaysersberg.

Kaysersberg, between vineyards and mountains, surprises by the charm of its medieval sites grouped around its church. It is one of the most charming cities of Alsace with its cobbled streets and richly decorated half-timbered houses. Kaysersberg was also elected the Favorite Village of the French 2017!
